  Asset Tracking

v2track Devices use local Cellular phone and the international Iridium Satellite Networks to provide efficient worldwide coverage for...

  • Fleet GPS Tracking & Messaging Aircraft, Cars, 4WD’s,
Trucks, Buses, Mining Machinery, Boats, Trains + more!

  • Sensor, Monitoring, Control & Messaging Warehousing,
Remote Communities, Remote Sensors & Equipment + more!

Why v2track?
The world of GPS tracking systems is growing by the year. The point of difference with v2track is in its design. It was designed to run as cost-effectively as possible without sacrificing reliability. Satellite tracking devices on the best satellite networks can provide nearly 100% coverage around the globe but it is expensive to use as the only method of data transmission. Cellular transmission is relatively cheap but doesn’t provide the same coverage as Satellite. We have brought these two technologies together to primarily use cellular connections and then switch to satellite only as a last resort as a means to get data through. Over a month this can save hundreds of dollars in tracking fees across a fleet.

v2track Website
Logging in to the v2track website allows you to watch all your vehicles/sensors in real-time. It retains a history of every trip/session so you can go back and review it at a later time.

v2track Device Options
See our Hardware page for more details.

Update Rate
By default, our devices are set at 15 second updates while on Cellular and 3 minutes while on Satellite.  These can be set/altered to suit your requirements.  Some applications require updates more often than 15 seconds, with some setting changes we can accommdate this also.

For devices in aircraft, positions are triggered when the system detects a take off, landing, and changes heading by more than 30 degrees.  Shortly we will be adding more events linked to internal gyro and accelerometer.

Flight Following Alerts
We have the following Flight Following alerts available from our servers.  You can customise the parameters for your own fleet.

  • Proximity Alert: If aircraft appears to have landed (ie speed less than 10kts) more than 1.5 miles from an Airstrip.

  • Non Reporting Alert: A device hasn’t been heard from for more than 10 mins and the last position it sent it was moving.

Buttons
Each v2track device has a front panel with 3 buttons. There is a Emergency button, a Position Marking button and a customisable ‘I’m OK’ button. These can each be set up to send the relevant preset message to the appropriate recipient through the website, SMS or email.

Messaging
With the purchase of our optional LCD screen and tiny QWERTY keyboard, our devices can be used for sending messages. Messages can be sent from the v2track website to devices or mobile phones. Device initiated messages can be sent to emails, mobiles as well as being displayed on the website.

Alerts

A variety of SMS, Email and Website Alerts can be set up for each device. These include: Speeding Alerts, Out of Hours use and Date based alerts for tracking things like Registrations/Servicing and Odometer readings. You can also set up Alerts to notify you when an asset enters or leaves a predefined Geographic Area.

Daily History, Playback and Reports
The v2track website provides an extensive daily history allowing you to drill down into each trip and see the data in each position. You can also plot or play-back a previous trip, view its vertical profile, or export it to Google Earth in a KML file. There are custom reports available. You can get a summary of information based on a period in time, ie weekly/monthly trip reports. We can add custom reports on request.
